We will start accepting applications in March 2026.
The Czech Institute of Biosynthetic Psychotherapy, z.ú. offers a comprehensive 2.5-year training in Biosynthetic Psychotherapy with children and adolescents encompassing a total of 332 hours of education. The course of the program is divided into shorter and longer units (30 and 46 hours, respectively) with four units taking place each year. The program consists of a self-experiential part (140 hours) intertwined with theory and methodology (172 hours). The training also includes 20 hours of mentoring. These parts are alternated within the individual meetings so that the trainees are given opportunity to learn the theory, practical techniques and experience the exercises offered.
Curriculum:
The training introduces the theory and methodology of Biosynthetic Psychotherapy and is intended to facilitate learning practical tools for future work with children and adolescents. The training includes self-experiential components that develop skills on the bodily, emotional, relational and cognitive level to be used in work with children and adolescents.
Participants will gradually get to know the perspective of Biosynthetic Psychotherapy on human functioning as such, with an emphasis on developmental aspects and specifics of individual life periods, especially from birth to early adulthood.
Play will be explored as an important communication tool with children and adolescents and we will use movement, breath, imagination and creativity to help them regain their psychological and somatic balance.
There will be space to experiment with our own vitality and spontaneity and use insights from embryology and neuroscience to broaden our perspective of the child and their functioning in order to better understand their specific difficulties and discover techniques to help them return to fuller functioning.
We will study the topics of Biosynthetic Psychotherapy and focus on creating a therapeutic contract, the relationship with the child and working with parents, which is essential in child and adolescent psychotherapy. The educational program aims to inspire and broaden the horizons of current and aspiring child and adolescent psychotherapists and will offer mentoring as a way of sharing practical experience and theoretical knowledge in working with children.
Lecturers of the training: Mgr. Pavla Špeldová and Mgr. Jan Machala
